These Terms and Conditions apply to all courier, transport, and delivery services (“Services”) provided by Northern Parcel Co. Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”) to any business or individual (“you”, “your”).
By booking or using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Definitions

“Consignment” means any parcel, item, package, document, or goods transported by us.

“Sender” means the person or business who requests the Service.

“Recipient” means the person or premises to which the Consignment is delivered.

“Same Day Service” means direct delivery from collection to destination without routing via depot.
2. Basis of Contract
A legally binding contract is formed only when:

You request a service;
-
We confirm acceptance in writing (email/text/portal); and

You accept the price and these Terms.
We may refuse a Consignment at our discretion.
3. Your Responsibilities
You confirm that:

You are the owner of the goods or are authorised to send them;

The Consignment is properly packaged, labelled and safe for transport;

The goods are lawful and do not fall within the Prohibited Items List (see Section 9);

Collection and delivery locations are accessible.
You are responsible for:

Accuracy of addresses and contact names;

Any additional charges where redelivery, waiting time, or failed delivery occurs.
4. Our Responsibilities
We will:

Carry out Services with reasonable care and skill;

Deliver Consignments within agreed timescales where possible;

Provide proof of delivery where required.
Delivery times are not guaranteed, especially where events occur outside our control (traffic, accidents, weather, road closures, breakdowns, industrial action, etc.).
5. Charges and Payment

Prices are confirmed prior to booking.

Business clients may be offered invoice accounts (standard terms: 14 days EOM).

Private customers must pay at time of booking.
-
Waiting time, failed delivery, storage, tolls, parking fees or redirection are chargeable.
We reserve the right to charge interest on late invoices at:
8% above the Bank of England base rate, under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
6. Liability for Loss or Damage
We are not a loss insurer.
Liability is limited to demonstrable loss caused by our negligence.
Standard Liability Limit

Maximum liability: £100 per Consignment, unless additional insurance is agreed in writing before collection.
We are not liable for:

Consequential or indirect losses (loss of business, profit, contracts, reputational loss);

Loss or damage arising from inadequate packaging, inaccurate addresses, or prohibited goods;
-
Damage to glass, electronics, fragile, or unprotected items unless professionally packaged.
Additional insurance is available on request.
7. Delay or Non-Performance
We are not liable for delays or failure to perform where caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to:

Traffic delays, road closures, extreme weather, mechanical failure, third party interference, acts of God, industrial action, terrorism, or law enforcement stops.
8. Delivery
A Consignment will be delivered:

To the address provided, not necessarily the named individual.

Against signature or photographic proof of delivery.
Where the Recipient is unavailable:

We may attempt to contact you for instructions.

Redelivery charges may apply.
9. Prohibited & Restricted Items
We do not carry:

Cash, precious metals, jewellery, gemstones
-
Firearms, ammunition or weapons
-
Illegal drugs or narcotics
-
Controlled pharmaceuticals without licence
-
Live animals
-
Hazardous, explosive, corrosive or toxic substances
-
Items exceeding 25kg per single lift without prior arrangement
If you knowingly send prohibited items:

Our liability is zero, and
-
You may be charged for disposal, return, or safe handling.
10. Cancellation
If you cancel after a driver has been dispatched:

A call-out charge or minimum booking fee may apply.
If we must cancel due to safety, legal, or access issues:

We will refund any prepaid charges, less costs incurred.
11. Data Protection
